A Hand, An Arm, A Leg, A Foot

This a found poem that I wrote for english class to go with the book we were reading, All Quiet on the Western Front.

Again lie in wait
Toss the bits
We drink of course

Fellows catch
Eyes poked out
Mouths and noses stuffed.

Again lie in wait
Toss the bits
We drink of course

Killed at sight
cut off the bits
Jams on the thrust

Again lie in wait
Toss the bits
We drink of course

Waiting to be closed in
Up and rushes out
cannot do much before

Again lie in wait
Toss the bits
We drink of course

Body collapse
Hands remain
Suspended in prayer

We lie and wait again.
