Unnoticeable

She sits in the corner during test to not get distracted.
The teacher tells her she's amazing.
Her parents tell her to try harder next time.
She sews a green scarf for her close friend, but not her best friend.

She listens to the buzzing of teens all day.
She hums a tune under her breath to drown out the world.
Her tears stain her dry skin,
revived by the pure emotion of the droplet.

She picks a new pen color for each math lesson.
She draws a Celtic symbol in the corner of her homework.
She rewrites her name with different letters,
Hoping someone reading it will notice the difference,
because it's written all over her face.

She travels two hours a day to play the sport she loves,
She walks home to help the parents she loves
Even though they don't even know she walks home everyday.
She's done this for years.

She sings louder than anyone else because it makes her happy.
She watches the right tv shows,
She listens to the  right music,
Even though sometimes it's wrong.

She checks her Facebook only twice per month,
Never awaiting an acceptance from the one she wants to call her own.
She sings. She dances. She doesn't steal things.
She's a tough enchilada filled up with nada.

She can't take a call from her best friend to say hi or ask for help,
Because she's too busy visiting colleges
That she even hates.
She really hates them, but no one cares, except her.

It's her life.
Let her start living her dream.
Because you don't know her dreams like I do.
And that's why I don't question her. I write this to tell her:

I love her, and she needs to live her life, not for others, but herself,
Because she's slowly breaking away by the pieces.
And I can see it.
But no one else cares.
